Jaguar I-Pace SUV 294kW EV400 HSE 90kWh Auto [11kW Charger] 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I owned an iPace from new, bought in October 2019.
A rough list of issues:
- the heating broke after about 3 weeks. Garage said it would be 3-4 months before they could repair it. Jaguar intervened and it only took a few weeks.
- brakes squeaked every time. Garage said it was not an issue.
- sports seats were saggy and lumpy. After 1000 miles they looked worse than our 110k miles 3 series. This is, according to Jag, a feature for my comfort.
- the car had to be recovered on a truck 3 times for breakdowns. One was for a complete failure of all systems due to a main control cable failure.
- 2 additional breakdown call-outs that were temporarily repaired at roadside with follow up garage visits.
- a part went on the front suspension on both sides. I took it to be repaired, they only had one part, so rebooked to do both at same time. Again they only had one part, so this time they repaired one side and I made a further visit to repair the other side.
- the infotainment system is buggy and slow. Sometimes it just fails and won’t work again until tomorrow.
- it won’t connect to some chargers. At all. I spent half an hour at BP Pulse HQ with some of their techs trying to figure it out (just happened to be passing and tried to charge). They could not make the car connect.
Overall, the least reliable and lowest quality car I have owned - I have bought cars for £100 that are way more reliable.
I would not buy another Jag. Shame - I wanted to buy British but regretted it. Now got a Tesla and I’ve had one minor issue in 15 months.
